Italian-Inspired Reds
WINE #1
2020 Shared Table Farm
Refosco
North Fork of Long Island, New York
The Nappa family resides on a 3-acre homestead, which also serves as a bed-and-breakfast for Wine Club members. At Shared Table Farm, the family is committed to sustainable living, striving to close the circle by producing as much as possible on their farm. Any goods not produced on-site are sourced from neighboring farms on the North Fork. The Nappas believe in supporting the local community and work closely with other farmers and artisans who share their values of quality, sustainability, and a lifestyle rooted in harmony with the land. The farm’s name, Shared Table Farm, reflects their passion for bringing people together, whether it’s with fellow farmers, neighbors, or their wine club members and customers.
This wine is crafted from just 300 vines of an Italian varietal, grown on its own roots from carefully selected cuttings. Hand-harvested and sorted, the grapes undergo wild fermentation before being aged in neutral oak barrels. The wine is bottled unfiltered and unfined to preserve its natural expression. It presents a medium body, showcasing fresh fruit flavors, a deep, rich color, and well-balanced tannin.
WINE #2
2022 Suhru Wines
Teroldego
North Fork of Long Island, New York
Founded in 2008, Suhru Wines is a family-owned winery born from Susan and Russell's shared passion for wine. Russell’s extensive experience in the industry, shaped by his time in Australia, New Zealand, France, and the U.S., has been instrumental in guiding Susan’s growing interest and defining the winery’s distinctive style. The couple's global wine experiences, along with a love for food, have deepened their appreciation for the craft, a sentiment shared by their daughters, Shelby and Kylie, who actively support the business. Suhru Wines blends tradition with innovation, creating exceptional wines that reflect the essence of Long Island and beyond.
This wine offers vibrant notes of ripe pomegranate, complemented by a subtle hint of vanilla that lingers gracefully on the finish. Smooth, soft tannins provide a silky mouthfeel, while bright acidity adds a refreshing lift, enhancing the overall balance and elegance of the wine.
WINE #3
2020 Lieb Cellars
Teroldego, Lagrein
North Fork of Long Island, New York
Lieb Cellars crafts a portfolio of estate-grown, sustainable wines, renowned for their signature dry, clean, and fruit-forward style. Notably, Lieb owns the largest contiguous plot of Pinot Blanc in the US. Under the guidance of veteran winemaker Russell Hearn, these 35-year-old vines yield nationally recognized and award-winning wines. Their offerings extend beyond Pinot Blanc, including a sparkling rosé, a lightly oaked Chardonnay, and red blends featuring Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot.
This blend offers blackberry, grilled plum, and a hint of delicate rose petal aromas. The full-bodied flavors mirror the nose, making it a perfect partner for bold dishes. Imagine it alongside cured meats, smoky bacon, a juicy roast beef, or flavorful chicken dishes.
