Unique Cool-Climate Blends

WINE #1

2021 Galen Glen Red German Bastards
Zweigelt, Cabernet Dorsa
Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania

Nestled on a scenic ridge north of the Lehigh Valley, Galen Glen Winery defies expectations. Founded in 1995 by a passionate couple (engineer & chemist), it boasts unique terroir and a family legacy of innovation. The 7th generation, Erin, leads the viticulture team with a focus on sustainability. Their wines have garnered national acclaim, particularly for their pioneering Grüner Veltliner plantings.

Blueberry, blackberry, and a hint of black pepper dance on the palate in this juicy red. Supple tannins add structure, making it a perfect partner for bold flavors. Imagine it alongside aged cheeses, cured meats on a charcuterie board, or a hearty pizza. This wine is equally at home with sausage dishes and smoky barbecue.

WINE #2

2021 Shady Lane Cellars Franc ‘n’ Franc
Cabernet Franc, Blaufränkisch, Merlot
Leelanau Peninsula, Michigan

Founded in 1881, Shady Lane estate began as a 100-acre farm. By 1988, Bill Stouten and Joe O'Donnell transformed it into a vineyard, crafting their first wines in a reconstructed building. In 1999, the tasting room, once a chicken coop, welcomed visitors. Acquired by Richard Fortune's daughters in 2013, Kasey Wierzba, the new Executive Winemaker with Napa Valley experience, shaped Shady Lane Cellars' current style.

This expressive wine unfolds with hints of toasty oak, ripe cherry, and a touch of black pepper. Medium-bodied with a lush finish, it offers a delightful balance. This versatile wine pairs beautifully with a wide range of dishes, from earthy mushrooms and succulent lamb to juicy, rare steak and flavorful roast chicken.

WINE #3

2020 Lieb Cellars
Teroldego, Lagrein
North Fork of Long Island, New York

Lieb Cellars crafts a portfolio of estate-grown, sustainable wines, renowned for their signature dry, clean, and fruit-forward style. Notably, Lieb owns the largest contiguous plot of Pinot Blanc in the US. Under the guidance of veteran winemaker Russell Hearn, these 35-year-old vines yield nationally recognized and award-winning wines. Their offerings extend beyond Pinot Blanc, including a sparkling rosé, a lightly oaked Chardonnay, and red blends featuring Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot.

This blend offers blackberry, grilled plum, and a hint of delicate rose petal aromas. The full-bodied flavors mirror the nose, making it a perfect partner for bold dishes. Imagine it alongside cured meats, smoky bacon, a juicy roast beef, or flavorful chicken dishes.
